About the Mentor Foundation USA

The Mentor Foundation USA opened its Washington, D.C. office in 2010, with a mission to prevent drug abuse and promote health and well-being among children and youth in the United States.

The Mentor Foundation is an international charitable, non-profit organization, established in 1994, through a relationship with the World Health Organization, and is committed to substance abuse prevention through the promotion of healthy development in children and young people. It operates globally through its network of Mentor International and other Mentor Nationals and seeks to identify, undertake and support promising programs and policies in prevention.

Mentoring Programs

Mentor USA offers programs that combine the best of European and US prevention efforts. Our approach is to bring the business community together with schools in vulnerable communities and offer mentoring to youth through specially selected employees of corporate partners. We offer structured on-site programs at the schools that guide the mentors and students into different activities and topics. The purpose is to support and inspire the students to higher academic achievements and motivate them to healthy choices. The programs, facilitated by the staff from Mentor USA, give enriching experience for both students and mentors.
