Drug Prevention Seminar
On May 18, 2010, the Mentor Foundation hosted a free seminar on drug prevention at the House of Sweden, Washington, DC.

The challenges and recent trends of drug abuse among children and adolescents were discussed by leading experts and high-level government officials. The event had two sessions.

Morning session, 9.00am-1.00pm
International Drug Abuse Prevention:
Opportunities and Challenges

This session focused on cutting-edge research and public policy to promote youth drug prevention. Presenters included officials from the National Institute on Drug Abuse, White House Office of National Drug Control Policy and the Mentor Foundation.

Preventing Children from Drug Abuse:
Strategies for Parents, Schools and Communities

This session focused on how to involve schools, communities, families and parents in effective drug abuse prevention. Presenters included officials from the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy, Center for Substance Abuse Prevention, Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America and the Mentor Foundation.
